“When I decided to make a traditional pop record, I knew I wanted to  work with Ariza, because he has such an amazing grasp of that sonic world.  Ariza and I listened to a lot of music from the ‘50s and ‘60s for inspiration  and a lot of the songs we gravitated to were in that bossa nova soundscape.  We wanted to make a song that felt like it would seamlessly exist on the same playlist with those classics, radiating summery bossa vibes.
